Castle Gibson Furniture
Castle Gibson specialise in reclaiming old furniture - bringing damaged or discarded sofas, bookshelves and other items back to life for a new generation of owners. They decided to move the sale and hire of their furniture online.
Our brief was as follows:
- Implement existing designs from an external designer
- Code the front end in standards-compliant HTML and CSS
- Build a dynamic website to display a database of catalogue images
- Provide Castle Gibson with simple tools to upload and configure the display of their images
- Create a contact form for web enquiries relating to individual items
Once the initial build was under way, we expanded the brief and built in additional functionality:
- A shopping cart system that enabled browsers to indicate interest in multiple items
- Cookies set to remember a visitor’s selections even if they left the site and returned later
