Look, what is wrong with Firefox? I run version 2.0.0.8 on Mac, and it crashes frequently, sometimes as often as 3 times in a day-long session. And then a couple of times during an evening session on my laptop. If it weren’t for Firebug and the Developer Toolbar, I’d be long gone…
Hitting the ’share on facebook’ toolbar button will crash the ‘Fox reliably. What gives?

This looks like a scene from Saw III, but really it’s a Technical Effects project by some students at LCF. The guy volunteered to have his head cast in aid of a piece of project work for one of his flatmates. He’s totally sealed in but breathing from 2 airholes around his nostrils, communicating with hand movements and grunts. Weird experience I reckon.

London cycle commuting takes its toll on any bike. I’m currently on about 45 minutes per day, possibly my swiftest trip ever to and from work in this frantic bottlenecked city. My general philosophy is ‘ride it ’til it breaks’ - but this naturally can mean that I’ll be riding up Portland Place quite happily, and this will happen:

Busted wheel

Severe, but not enough to prevent me from getting home (on a deflated tyre).

I’ve had worse. Last year, I’d been noticing strange cracking noises for months before I eventually inspected the frame, to discover this:

Pictobrowser is a nice Flash slideshow tool for your Flickr photos. Thanks to Times Emit for this tip. More →

I’ve just cleared up another aggravating problem with integrating Zenphoto albums into a Wordpress blog. This is for anyone who has implemented Ruzee’s method and found that album and image links randomly trigger a 404 in Internet Explorer 6 and 7.

Although I initially thought it must be something to do with either the Zenphoto or Wordpress theme files, what finally solved it was turning off mod-rewrite in both the .htaccess file in the Zenphoto directory, and in zp-config.php. Perhaps there are some tweaks I could have done in .htaccess to remove the IE bug, but my programming skills didn’t stretch to it!

Surprising that this hasn’t come up in Ruzee’s comments. In case it matters, which I imagine it might, the website in question is hosted with Heart Internet - who, incidentally, I would recommend unreservedly to anyone looking for a decent, good value, well-supported, UK-based hosting package.
