What is strangerpixel?
![]()
strangerpixel is a one-man web design outfit, comprising me - Alastair Mucklow. I design bright, intelligent websites for small to medium-sized businesses, start-ups, charitable concerns, non-profit organisations and individuals requiring a web presence.
What I do:
- Revitalise your web presence
- Give you control over your content
- Advise on how to write for the web and structure content
- Increase traffic to your website
- Use open source software - because it’s free, sustainable and well supported
- Stick to web standards and semantic markup for accessibility across platforms and browsers
Take a look at the Projects page for further info. I’m always happy to consider new web design work, whatever the subject matter. If you’re interested, drop me a line.

This site:
I designed the core features of this version of strangerpixel.com in late 2006. I borrowed the pink and blue from Flickr; initially on a black background, I swapped this for a misty dark grey after chancing on an earlier incarnation of the TK Maxx website.
Although the design of this site, like all web design, is an iterative, constantly evolving process, I’m hoping to make some radical changes in 2008.
